With several thousand designs on the books, Sparkman & Stephens has a wealth of information available. In an effort to support these designs, resources have been established for clients to research information. Should you require design services with any project, please contact the S&S design department.
Many of our designs have entries on this site. Small scale Images, plans, and principal characteristics are available. Please feel free to share your wide-ranging experiences on the designs in the comments section under each applicable entry.
All historic plans are archived at Mystic Seaport. They are available to view in person at the Seaport. Alternatively, Mystic Seaport can arrange to have plans scanned and mail you hard copies for study purposes.
Rod Stephens began his career as a self-taught sailor on Barnstable Bay, Massachusetts. Rod entered the marine industry at an early age working at the legendary Nevins Yard in City Island. When Rod Stephens passed away he had been working on a book about sailing, which has been published here posthumously. Please note that we have left the book in its original form. There are some blanks throughout the text, and editing has been minimal as we wanted very much to have Rod's unique personality to shine through the pages. We hope you enjoy reading it.
