Just Listed: Hinckley Talaria 55 Flybridge

SOLUTIONS is a Talaria 55 Flybridge, specified and built for an exacting client. With two MAN common rail V-12 twin turbo engines generating 1360 horsepower, she cruises comfortably at 33 knots with a top speed of 36 knots.  All controls, navigational tools and entertainment are accessible on the fly bridge from the comfort of a double Stidd helm seat.  Detailed and maintained fastidiously Solutions is a two time winner of the prestigious “Best in Show” held annually at the San Diego Yacht Club.

“The Hinckley T55 is a seductive marriage of beauty and brawn”.  So said Dennis Caprio writing in the October 2007 issue of Yachting Magazine following sea trials.

Ten years on there is no doubt this is a very impressive boat.  With distinctive flowing lines hiding ample accommodations she moves smoothly at speed over a choppy seaway.  At rest, her proportions are a delight to the eye.  Superbly finished cherry wood joiner work, teak tulipwood cabin sole and tasteful interior furnishings result in what I can only describe as “comfortably captivating”.  The T55FB is truly in “a class of her own”.

A Walk Through.  Following a lively swim, I climbed the folding ladder and took a hot shower on the teak swim step, toweled off and headed to the flybridge.  The kids were stretched out on the expansive seating area, focused on their respective preoccupations with ‘mother’ relaxing on the port side settee, good book in hand.  Following the setting sun, we gathered around the dining table in the main saloon for dinner, enjoying the 360 degree view.   No too many minutes later the ‘kids’ headed down with the dishes to the galley on the port side, then took advantage of the ‘bribe’; use of PlayStation 2 in their starboard side twin guest cabin. We bid them ‘good night’, made our way through the passageway forward to the comfort of our master stateroom, settling in to the port and starboard settees for pre-bed relaxation.  A movie on the large flat screen between the alcoves on the cherry bulkhead was a catalyst for a ‘silent ship’ as we drifted off for a comfortable sleep in the forward facing queen size berth.
